The SAFOOD4MED consortium gathers in Italy, hosted by Universitas Mercatorum, for two key consecutive events marking an important milestone in the project’s progress: the Mid-Term Partners’ Meeting on 24 March and the International Scientific Day & Round Table on 25 March.
24 March – Mid-Term Partners’ Meeting
The Mid-Term Meeting represents a crucial internal checkpoint for the consortium, bringing together partners from Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
During this session, participants will:
- Review progress across all Work Packages
- Assess key scientific and technological achievements
- Align upcoming activities for the second phase of the project
- Strengthen collaboration among interdisciplinary teams
This meeting ensures that the project remains aligned with its objectives of sustainability, innovation, and real-world applicability.
25 March – International Scientific Day & Round Table
On 25 March 2026, Universitas Mercatorum will host a key event dedicated to:
“Bioplastics from agri-food by-products: technological innovation and circular value chains in the Mediterranean”
This initiative, organized within the PRIMA-funded SAFOOD4MED project, brings together researchers, institutions, industry stakeholders and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge solutions for sustainable food systems.
🔬 Scientific Session (09:00 – 12:00)
Presentation of project results, including:
Food waste identification, characterization and valorisation
Development of bio-based polymers from lignocellulosic fractions
