SaFood4Med participates in the PRIMA Project Day 2025 in Barcelona

The SaFood4Med – Innovative and safe antimicrobial bioplastics for food preservation in the Mediterranean area project took part in the PRIMA Project Day 2025, held in Barcelona on 1–2 October 2025 at the Avenida Palace Hotel.
The event, promoted by the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) and co-funded by the European Union, brought together coordinators and representatives of PRIMA-funded projects to exchange experiences, results, and best practices in project management, communication, and dissemination.

Giovanni De Francesco, the Project Coordinator from the University of Perugia, represented SaFood4Med and attended both days of sessions organized by the PRIMA Secretariat.
On October 2, SaFood4Med took part in the Café Scientifique – Poster Exhibition, together with other projects funded under the 2023 PRIMA calls. The poster presented the project’s goals and early achievements, highlighting the development of sustainable antimicrobial bioplastics for food preservation — an innovation aimed at reducing food waste and supporting the ecological transition of the Mediterranean agri-food system.

Participation in the PRIMA Project Day was a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration and networking within the PRIMA community, promoting research and innovation for sustainability in the Mediterranean region.
