SAFOOD4MED at PRIMA Project Day 2024: Showcasing Innovation for a Sustainable Mediterranean

On October 22–23, 2024, SAFOOD4MED proudly participated in the PRIMA Project Day 2024 in Barcelona. Representing our project, Dr. Giovanni De Francesco from the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences (DSA3) at the University of Perugia, and international coordinator of the SAFOOD4MED initiative, engaged with the broader PRIMA community.

The event offered a dynamic platform to introduce newly funded projects, covering key aspects such as reporting practices, financial and legal frameworks, as well as best practices in communication and dissemination.

SAFOOD4MED presented its mission of transforming food waste into innovative antimicrobial bioplastics for food preservation in the Mediterranean area — contributing to a circular economy, reducing food spoilage, and supporting sustainable agriculture.

We are thrilled to be part of PRIMA’s vibrant network, pushing the frontiers of sustainable solutions for the agri-food systems in the Mediterranean.

Stay tuned as we continue to innovate and collaborate toward a greener, safer future!
